FAQs for sellers

  • I’m Interested in listing on an auction?
    Click the ‘sell with us’ button on the homepage or contact our office and one of the members of our team will gather some information on your truck or trailer. We will guide you through the process.
  • What are my assets worth?
    The appraisals team will look through the information on your truck or trailer first. We may make you an offer to purchase the truck directly, but if we cannot, we can provide you with an accurate worst-case and best-case valuation for the auction
  • How will my asset be listed on the auction?
    You will just need to fill out a quick form gathering your reserve price, some photos, and a video. Once done our expert team will put the listing together for you, and it will be listed on our auction.
  • I have lots of assets to sell, can you help?
    Yes! You can list as many assets on our auction as you please. We will just need to work more closely with you to make sure we have all the relevant information about each truck and/or trailer you’re selling.
  • What will I be charged for selling my assets?
    It’s FREE! There will be no fee for selling your assets through WBT Auctions.
  • How do I know the buyer has paid for my asset?
    Bidders will pay by electronic bank transfers, same day, faster payments. We will inform you once the buyer has sent payment.
  • How do I get paid for my assets?
    The sale will be invoiced as soon as the auction is finished, if the reserve price is met or exceeded. Buyers will be expected to pay within 48 hours.
  • What happens if my truck or trailer doesn’t meet my chosen reserve price?
    Usually lots will achieve their reserve price or even exceed it, however, if a lot was to not reach its reserve price then you will be informed, in which, you can then decide whether you want to accept the highest bid that was made or you can decline and relist in the next auction, hoping that the next audience is different and you can receive a higher bid.
  • Can I sell my asset if I don’t live in the UK?
    We only allow truck or trailers that are in the UK to be listed on WBT Auctions.
  • I need to sell my assets quick, can you help?
    We will work as quickly as you do, if we can gather all the information as quickly as possible from you, we can either make you an offer to buy the asset(s) from you directly, or we can list the truck or trailer on the next auction date.
  • How long does the auction run for?
    Auctions run for a fortnight (every 2 weeks) until a new auction starts. Usually starting on a Monday at 10am and ending on a Wednesday at 10am.
  • Do you need to collect my asset for the auction?
    No, You’re asset stays at your yard while the auction is live.
  • When will my vehicle be collected, once sold?
    Once the funds are fully cleared, the buyer will be prompted to sort the collection for your asset. This is usually a quick process so expect collection to happen no more than 7 days later. Your contact information will be given to the buyer to discuss collection with you.

FAQs for buyers

  • How do I make a bid?
    To be able to make bids on WBT Auctions, you must first register with us. Then go to the auctions page and find any items you wish to bid on, click in them, type your bid and click make bid.
  • How will I know if I’m winning or losing on a bid I’ve made?
    Our page will update automatically to show the status of the bid you’ve made, also showing the new highest bid. You should also receive an email notification if you have been outbid on an item.
  • How will I know if I have won the lot once the auction is over?
    As soon as the auction is finished, any lots you have won will be automatically sent to you to show you was the highest winning bidder. If your bid meets or exceeds the reserve price you will be automatically invoiced for those lots.
  • What happens if I won the lot but didn’t match the reserve price?
    The customer who owns the truck will be told their asset has sold but it did not meet the reserve price, it is up to them to decide whether they will sell it to the highest bidder or not. If the customer says yes, you will be invoiced. If the customer says no, we will discuss with them how much more you would need to pay to buy the asset from them, which you can decide whether to decline or accept their negotiation.
  • Can I set auto-bidding on a lot?
    Yes, you can use our auto bidding feature. You just need to set the maximum amount you’re willing to bid and our system will keep bidding for you until the maximum amount is reached. This will make sure you stay ahead of other people bidding.
  • How do I find specific truck or trailers I’d be interested in bidding on?
    You can utilize our category search function on the homepage to narrow down to specific trucks or trailers you are looking for. We have a very broad collection ranging from all different makes, models, shapes and sizes, however, we can not promise you will find the exact truck or trailer you want, if you don’t see what you’re looking for, please come back to the next auction which will have new, freshly updated variety on lots.
  • What are the chargers on top of the hammer price?
    For any lots you successfully win, you will be charged a buyers premium. This will be 10% of the hammer price, plus VAT.
  • Do you collect and deliver the asset once payment is complete?
    No, you must sort the collection between yourself and the seller. We will provide all their contact information once payment is complete so you can discuss when it is best to collect the asset.
  • How long do I have to clear the funds on any lots I have won?
    You will have 48 hours to complete the payments on any lots you have won. Failing to do so, will result in losing the lot and it being offered to the next highest bidder.
  • When are auctions held and how long do they run for?
    We have an auction every fortnight that starts on Monday at 10am. You can get insider previews for some of the trucks and trailers on the next upcoming auction if you sign up to our mailing list. Please scroll to the bottom of this page and enter your email to subscribe.
  • Is there any warranty on lots I buy?
    No, All lots are sold as seen. The photos and videos we’re taken a maximum of 2 weeks before the truck or trailer was listed so you know for sure that what you see is what you’ll receive. The description of the truck is accurate, and any faults will be highlighted in the listing.
  • What documentation will I get if I purchase a truck or trailer?
    All documentation supplied by the sellers will be available to the buyer. Responsibility for documentation that is not available falls to the buyer to apply for any required documentation. Please call and check what documentation we have available for the lot before bidding.
  • How can I find out about future auctions?
    You can sign up to our mailing list to get updated on the next upcoming auction along with some insider previews of what is to be available at the next auction. Please scroll to the bottom of this page and enter your email to subscribe to the mailing list.
